Terremoto

We were shaken out of bed at 4am this morning by a 5.9 magnitude earthquake, its epicentre just a few miles north of Valparaiso. Luckily this was a small one by Chilean standards, with no damage or injuries.

Despite plenty of time in California with its multitudinous warnings, drills, earthquake preparation info, etc. I discovered that my response to an actual tremor is to lie in bed and hope that it stops soon.  And then get annoyed at being woken up, and having to get back to sleep with all the birds twittering and the dogs barking.  Let's hope we don't experience anything larger...
