Pete performed exceptionally well, given the lack of dramatic talent his parents have bestowed on him. My problems with the stage began when I was supposed to be Joseph in the playschool nativity but a bout of chickenpox meant I had to be a shepherd under a very large, very dark hood. I was never destined to play Hamlet after that.
