There was a suggestion that the Hammonds had imported the English weather along with the chocolate. Luckily the morning clouds burnt off fairly quickly and the day was filled with park, library, frozen yogurt and pool (in that order). This could be the model for the whole holiday, although ideally we would add "children are silent for two hours in the afternoon so Uncle David can have a nap".
