Autumn years

The grandparents are doing a fine job, as usual!  "I didn't bring him many presents this time," says my Mum, then proceeds to pull new gifts for the grandson out of her luggage daily.  But she also brought me some chocolate Hobnobs, so I'm happy.

We've been doing the DC sights, including a nice river cruise and various museums.  There's also been a fair amount of leaf-peeping, with our local park offering a fantastic display of reds and yellows.  And it's Halloween!  Pete wore his costume for all of two minutes before deciding he had no interest in our neighbourhood costume parade, although did well handing out candy on the doorstep without eating too much himself.

Oh, and the grandparents proved excellent babysitters when we went out on Friday night with Vince and Christine in anticipation of a certain birthday that's approaching for Hannah...

Grandpa - a stamp collector from the age of seven - is happy.

High-flyers.

But the highlight so far?  The battery-powered train that now automatically pulls the trucks around the track!  And makes a lot of noise while it does!  Thanks Mum.

Do I still get candy if I don't wear the costume?

Seems like I do!

Off to the park.

Dragging Grandma through the autumn colours.

Almost ready to take over the blog.

Not all who wander are lost.  Although these three probably are.

Hedgehog.

And at the 184th attempt, everyone is smiling and looking at the camera.  Amazing!

How many years is it since 1975?
