House Guests

Mat and Alana are escaping the British summer and touring around California. They've done LA, Yosemite, Tahoe, Mendocino, and are now on the Walnut Creek leg of their trip (surely a priority destination for every visitor to the Golden State!) They're here for a week, and as with the rest of the trip they've been packing it in. Today was Berkeley and San Francisco. Berkeley for Barney's Burgers and Amoeba Records, SF for everything else - sea lions, cable cars, coffee, martinis. I've sent them to Haight Ashbury today to give me some time to recover.

Lost in the campus crowd - it's rush week.

Mat, and the real reason he came to California. This is the one in Berkeley, he's at the SF branch today.

Into the city, and along to the end of Pier 39.

Grumpy old men.

Sleeping lion.

On a cable car, a pleasure as always.

In rolls the fog, right on time.

Cocktail party.

Small talk.

It must be the drink, neither of us is that funny.
