Ever since they discovered it (in Colorado, I believe) Dana and Amir have been telling us about Mimi's Cafe. This is their breakfast spot of choice, and I can report that they are not wrong in their assessment.
We got up early (9am on a Saturday - this is dedication!) and drove the 30 minutes to our nearest branch in Hayward. There we were greeted by a plush booth, a continental ambiance, and a full menu of delicious breakfast treats. Tipped off by Dana, French toast was the order of the day. And it was delicious.
How much does breakfast perfection cost? As regular readers will be aware, I never like paying for these things. Luckily if you join Mimi's e-club they treat you to a free entree. Coupons were printed out, and we ended up paying only for the coffee. Don't take my word for it! I recommend the Mixed Berry Pain Perdu.
