Cold in the east

After a few snow-related delays we've made it to Ely and the loving arms of John and Laura. In this part of the country the land is flat and cold. We passed a frozen field that had been turned into a makeshift skating rink, and had the cheery news that Heathrow had shut. Next year the Davieses will be wintering somewhere in the southern hemisphere.

Travelling light.

A tearful goodbye to the town of my birth (you can't see my tears because my eyes are frozen).

A farewell to snow (ha!)

Making tracks.

In Ely. Maybe we should have stayed in Somerset.

And if you haven't seen this picture of our green and pleasant land on the BBC, take a look!
