Eggstraordinary

Technically Easter is tomorrow, but that doesn't get in the way of having fun around here!

We started a day of wine tasting with a trip to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery where at 10am they held a big Easter Egg hunt in between the vines. By the time we arrived, ten minutes late, a thousand children had stripped the whole place bare of eggs. Luckily a helpful employee was on hand with a supplementary basket but, disappointingly, no rabbit costume.

After the fun for the children it was grown-up time, with cans (cans!) of Champagne and a nice variety of pastries. I was waiting for the director himself to appear (hey, if it's good enough for the President!) but no such luck. We contented ourselves with complimentary tastings for the rest of the day, and an afternoon nap.

Slash and burn. Not an egg is left by the time we arrive.

An empty Easter bucket. Just look at that poor little face.

But what's this? The Easter bunny, disguised as Amanda, is on hand to hide away a few extra eggs.

Some people who are far too old see if anything has been missed.

Yep, far too old.

This is better - 'Sophia' Champagne.

It's all about responsibility here in California.

Not old enough to drink.

Jack models 'Vinoflage'. Look carefully and you'll spot him.

Tasting number two, at Trentadue.

Cheers!

Happy, and not even that drunk yet.

A few purchases.

Chateau Davies.

Queen of the castle.
