Fruitless Endeavour

The space shuttle Endeavour took its final flight today, to its resting place at the California Science Center in LA.  Before its last touchdown (until the aliens invade and we need something to escape in, at least) it took a grand tour of Northern California, piggy-backing on a 747, over majestic backdrops such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Tamalpais.

Unfortunately we weren't near any of those, and had only the somewhat obscured sky above our apartment to look at.  We waited for quite a while and, of course, when the moment came, I didn't have my camera ready.  I got some nice pics of it departing though.

With the shuttle fleet now fully decommissioned, several questions remain.  Will humans ever set foot on Mars, or even the Moon again, in our lifetime?  What happens to our species when we turn away from the frontiers before us?  Why do they spell "color" and "flavor" incorrectly but can get "Endeavour" right?

What I got.
