Burnin' love

Come, stand in the cold and dark and watch us burn the effigy of a man who, 400 years ago, tried to blow up our king and Parliament!

Bonfire Night is not the easiest sell outside of Britain, but this evening we managed to gather quite a crowd to watch Guy Fawkes once again go up in flames. Unfortunately, in a country where you can shoot whoever you want (maybe), fireworks are banned unless it's 4th July. I guess the Americans were hoping for Fawkes to be successful.

We served mulled wine and hot dogs before the main event. Both Mayas (Singer and Bar) got quite attached to my Guy, but were also very excited to see him go up in flames. There is hope for the youth!

Penny for the Guy? (I was criticised for making him look too much like Sir Francis Drake).

Despite the hot temperatures, Hannah and I dressed traditionally.

Moran contributed a 2D Guy. His hair looks quite like Sagy's. I didn't ask...

Out the back of building 169.

There he goes! Luckily the fire station is only a couple of blocks away.
