Chevron love

Chevron, that big oil energy conglomerate that is deeply socially responsible and, let's be honest, puts food on my table, is like the best of both British and American companies. None of this Silicon Valley come-to-work-in-your-flip-flops nonsense. Hannah has to dress up in a suit, and people call her ma'am (possibly), but they have excellent benefits and employees actually enjoy coming to work (extremely non-British).

One of the biggest benefits, besides the subsidised canteen, is the 9/80 schedule. Hannah, whose job title is the wonderfully descriptive "Specialist", has to work 40 hours a week, but they let you squeeze that into nine instead of ten working days giving you every other Friday off. It's like a Bank Holiday every fortnight!

Today was one of those days, but Hannah had a few things to finish off so a little "working from home" was required. Would you believe that our wi-fi extends to the pool?

Hannah's home office. Sorry about the shadow but, you know, when the sun is SO bright...
