Here you can swim in the blue water, or hire a boat, or just lounge around in the ridiculously sunny temperatures we had today. Anat and Shauli had suggested the trip, and were very proud to bring along an Israeli friend who had an English wife! We barbecued, we talked, we sunbathed, we played with beautiful children and handed them back to their parents when they got annoying, Hannah and I walked to the visitor centre and looked at their display of stuffed wild animals and super-enthusiastic Park Ranger.
On the way back it would have been rude not to pop into a vineyard, and we happened to be passing the Blue Victorian Winery, owned by Vezer Family Vineyards. Although they have a horrible website their wine is pretty good. Or the few sips I had were; guess who got to be Hannah's designated driver.
The outdoors, the sun, swimming in lakes, wineries, barbecues...just like the current May Bank Holiday weekend in Britain, I guess.
Our little slice of paradise.
Hannah wanders down the Californian Riviera.
Arbel, relaxing.
Playing in the sand.
While Shauli does the hard work.
At the visitor centre, and a scene from the wild.
Hannah found a new pet: a gopher snake! Not stuffed!!
I got a raccoon...who needs a bit of feeding up.
Back at the beach, Shauli and Arbel decide to set sail.
While Anat doesn't.
Man overboard!
Leaving the families and children behind, Hannah and I retreat to the Blue Victorian Winery.
Floral overtones.
It's all wine and roses around here!
