After picking up our car from
Greenmotion (the most eco-friendly car hire firm in the country - what good is that to Chevron?) we zipped down the M3 and into Dorset where Hannah's parents were waiting. It was a little strange not seeing them through a webcam and computer screen, but as soon as we discovered that walking into another room was the equivalent of hanging up a Skype call we were all a lot more comfortable.
As ever, the hospitality was excellent, with Basque chicken followed by an exotic fruit salad. And gin and tonic. And Champagne. And wine. And sloe gin. I almost didn't need another of my Melatonin happy pills to help me sleep.
