Quiet, for now

I delivered young David back to his Mum today, a clandestine handover in a restaurant in SF.  Unfortunately the Giants had decided to win the World Series and have their celebration parade today too.  We couldn't fit on the first BART train to come through the Creek and squirmed our way between the armpits and legs of everyone on the second.  Travel time was extended by people sardining themselves in at each subsequent station ("Stand clear of the doors!  The doors are closing!" for several minutes).  As it was Halloween there were several witches and other monsters in the black-and-orange sea.

Luckily we were going in the opposite direction from the crowds for David's final treat: a return to the Musee Mechanique.  He wanted to see if he could beat the electrocution machine on medium setting.  He did, we blew goodbye kisses to the sea lions (on an empty Pier 39) and found a bus back into the madness.  We met Frances and Clare in the Ferry Building and had a final Mexican together before I waved them goodbye on a fairly crowded station as they took off for SFO.

It's been a full week!  My computer game playing has certainly improved, although I seem to have developed RSI in my thumb from too much Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride.  And what's the recommended minimum age to introduce a baby to pinball?

Fans in the BART.

And out.

But David's not here for the sport.

After electrocution - earthquake and fire.

The sea lions aren't too bothered about the baseball either.

Introducing the young man to the finer things in life (that's hot chocolate).

Last supper.
