Back to Berkeley

Mum and Sheila got their local bearings today with a walk into Berkeley. On the way we stopped at The Bread Workshop for a cappuccino and huge pastry, and (of course!) checked out the thrift shops. We met Hannah for lunch, and then ascended the campanile for a more aerial view.

They also got an introduction to Berkeley public transport, with a crawling journey back to the motel on a bus with the requisite beeping, shouting driver. Now we're back home with a cup of tea, planning the next week of their trip. They did very well today, so I'm going to let them out on their own. They can phone me in ten days when they need a lift to the airport...

A hearty breakfast.

Sheila admires the eucalyptus trees.

Mum admires a "modern dance" performance.

New entrants.

We size up the task at hand.
