More! Free! Ice cream!

The ever ongoing and recently quite successful quest for free ice cream rolled joyously on today with the discovery that Coldstone Creamery was giving away cupfuls of Kate's Creation, a special caramel-chocolate-apple-pie recipe made especially for the Make-A-Wish foundation.  Amazingly, Walnut Creek does not (yet) have a Coldstone and so it was a one-stop trip on the BART to Lafayette.

The ice cream parlor is dangerously close to the station, making it a perfect place for me to pop out to on a bored afternoon (wait!  I'm bored every afternoon!)  We were greeted chirpily and told all about the promotion and then handed our freebies.  Mmmm.  Somewhat sweet, but with a taste like heaven.  Well done Kate!

Of course, when you take into account the BART fair, the donation to charity, and the Indian meal we decided to have at the Lafayette restaurant that we passed, free becomes a relative term.  But it's all in a good cause!  And I don't mean my addiction to gratis frozen goodies.

Why don't we have one in the Creek?  I'll be having a word with the king.

As world's largest ice cream socials go, this one was pretty good.

Ice cream and good causes.  Gets me every time.

Appley, with a hint of Graham cracker.

Getting more obese with every good work.

And look at this!  Yes, we're that important.
