Reasons to love America #248

Halloween!  For a country that has, on occasion, attempted to ban Harry Potter, there's a surprising fondness for celebrating this most devilish of holidays.  Still, if you can rid Christmas of any spiritual significance (despite appearances, commercialism is not yet a recognised religion) then why not take the spirits out of this one too?

Amongst cards made to send to mums, dads, siblings, grandparents, etc. I enjoyed finding a "Happy Halloween, Goddaughter" card which I posted to Meg last year and that apparently went down well at Ian's Bible study.  The Mormons were always our biggest candy customers in Uni Village.

When it comes down to it, why do you need an excuse to dress up and eat lots of sweeties?  With the day itself a few short weeks away, the shops are already full of goodies and costumes.  And in the spirit of this great democratic country why should anyone, or anything, miss out?  I spotted these in our local Target and wanted to share:
