Split pea frozen yogurt

It was the second half of our epic, two-part journey today, and finished with the joy of driving through LA on a Friday evening.  That bit wasn't too bad, actually, as we were able to use the car pool lane (I knew I'd brought Emily along for a reason!)

Before that we stopped for pea soup at Andersen's "world famous" restaurant (it's on my blog, so it is now) and at Solvang, a Danish town in the heart of California.  Because what would be more appropriate to put there?  We were driving right past Hannah's golf club so stopped in to say hello to her.  She says she saw Tiger Woods from behind this morning.

Then it was onto the infamous 405 and down through LA.  I do like the city, but they have the traffic of ten San Franciscos and drivers who fancy themselves as the next Jenson Button.  But we had to press on as Jim and Gen's newest local frozen yogurt emporium was selling cups for $1 each as an opening special.  We decided to see whether feeding a mountain of froyo to a three-year-old just before bed made her more or less likely to drift off to sleep quietly...

How to make split pea soup.

The place has been here for some time.

Not sure these tins are still good.

Pea soup for your car!

A close-up of the green good stuff.

Emily samples, and is impressed.

California meets Daneland.

Vikings used to pillage the North East of England.  We don't like them.

Not sure.

Something is rotten.

The brewing company!  Making Denmark famous for something other than Carlsberg.

Down in Irvine, and Emily is excited.

She is not alone.

Gen takes charge.

What topping has James chosen for his yogurt?

Chocolate froyo topped with M&Ms.  Nothing more is needed.

Not even a camera can distract Frankie.

I was more ready to believe the pea soup health claims.

Finishing...

Finished!
