This week sushi was on the menu! The Sugata Japanese Restaurant had received some good reviews online but looked like the proverbial hole-in-the-wall when we arrived. We bravely marched in.
It was, of course, far better than that. Inside we got to sit at their only special Japanese-style table in what amounted to a mini private dining room. The waitresses all wore Sugata branded t-shirts (a chain restaurant of one?) and the sushi was prepared fresh at the bar. We raised a glass of sake to the poor students, all labouring under the pressure of finals, and got back to the task in hand: eating, talking, and planning where the next lunch was going to be.
Poor Amir (and Hannah) had to stay behind to study for the economics final today. Don't be fooled - really he's sat there surfing ebay.
The hand-painted sign does not raise expectations.
Elliot and Dana await the delivery of the hot sake.
Emily and her bento box. Huge!
Things get serious when the sushi arrives.
