For goodness sake

It's a complete coincidence that a number of recent posts have revolved around alcohol.  Today we had our weekly Partners' Lunch, and by another coincidence (as planned by Dana) several of us found ourselves at Takara Sake, our local rice wine distillery.

Sake making is a complex process.  You can't just crush grains of rice under your feet then leave them to ferment - there's steaming, adding a mould, brewing, mashing, squeezing...it's a lot of work, but I can tell you that the results make it well worth it.

Partners in lunch.  From right: Marta, Claire (not officially a partner, but we let her attend), Silvi, Moran, Dana, Dan, Daphny, me.

The nice lady at the sake factory.  She got even nicer when she started to pour the tastings.

Lining it up.

Some of the produce.

England, Israel, Italy, New Zealand.  And all locals.  This is Berkeley!
