Thursday was a big night in the history of Haas. The first ever business school talent show was held, and what an event it was.
The most common question of the night was: "if they can do that, why are they bothering with an MBA?" We had opera singers, latin dancers, Bollywood choreography...professors joined in too and the Dean sang a song, accompanying himself on guitar (and he can sing and play!)
But everything was building up to the final act - Leading Through Intonation. This is Elad's band, drawn together from the top rock musicians in school. I managed to sneak in as well playing the bass, and after a few practices we put together a pretty decent showing of Smooth by Santana, A Little Less Conversation by Elvis, and a big finish of Don't Stop Believin' by Journey (the leaving class of 2009's chosen song). See below for the sights, the sounds, and the smells of pure rock.
The calm before the storm.
Uber-axeman Elad is helped with his effects by frontman Eugene.
Adam "The Sticks" sets up his drums.
The compere's take the stage and begin introducing the acts.
Arnold unplugged.
Jessica is a genuine opera singer! And thankfully she's also in our band.
Next we slip into a little Bollywood.
This guy was amazing, performing a wedding dance.
Dean Rich strums his stuff.
And here we go. Eugene whips up the crowd.
Who's the cool guy at the back? It's me, of course.
Kathryn kicks it 80s old skool.
I'm with the band...(and Elad's in my t-shirt!)

And now some video evidence:
