The students at Haas are very diligent, and because for one week last year they managed to bring energy consumption in the business school down by 11% they were rewarded with an ice cream party. Incentivisation is an excellent business principle (and a made-up word). A structured reward scheme can hugely improve employee commitment. And as an uncommitted and nonincentivised partner, I was allowed some too - this is, after all, the university that has been providing food and water to the tree sitters for the last 18 months.
Students + ice cream = anarchy
This is the good stuff.
I got seconds too!
In other, possibly more exciting news, the last of the tree sitters has semi-peacefully descended from their perch. It's a sad day for unwashed hippies everywhere. Read all about it right here.
