Undaunted by my near-death experiences of last time, and figuring that the wild creatures only come out at night, we returned to Strawberry Canyon today (and I managed to remember my memory card!) Unfortunately it was very hazy out on the bay, but this has meant that clouds have rolled in tonight and for the first time in two weeks temperatures are below 30C.
Our path took us past the few remaining tree sitters. They're still getting quite a bit of support from the ground, but they've been evicted from all the trees the uni needs to clear before building. A solitary camp remains, and all the branches below it have been stripped away. The hope is that they will come down of their own accord, but after almost two years up there I'm pretty sure it's not over yet.
