It was outward bound and Westward ho! today as we travelled over the Richmond bridge into Marin County. Here giant redwoods roam free, and we returned to Muir Woods with our newly-purchased season ticket.
Lunch was taken in the far more civilised setting of The Cheesecake Factory. We did our responsible adult duty of making the children eat some of their main course before being allowed pudding. Bethany opted for the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cheesecake ("I want the one with chocolate all over it," she said before we walked in), Oliver went for the seasonal special Upside-Down Pineapple Cheesecake, and the twins split a strawberry-topped Original between them.
We wobbled slowly from there to the Golden Gate Bridge, where we probably contravened several weight limits. Walking across, Jacob was in heaven spotting trucks, vans, and buses on the road while tankers and container ships sailed underneath. It was his best hour of the holiday!

Bethany explains it all to Rebecca. Or maybe it's the other way around.

I didn't know there were monkeys in Muir Woods.
A genuine local.
At The Cheesecake Factory. "That one...that one...that one...."
Tucked away in the family area.
Mummy was allowed to have a drink at lunchtime. We've been trying to wean her off that during her stay with us.
Daddy had to settle for a slice of cheesecake.
