24/7/365

A year ago today we touched down at SFO airport, waved our visas at immigration, and caught the BART to Berkeley. In case you haven't been following, here are a few things that have happened since then.

We've...

...attended math camp
...got lost in the wilds above Berkeley
...been the only man at an all-woman business meeting
...found the Hotsy Totsy and seen it redecorated
...been cleaned out in Vegas
...attended lots of Israeli holiday celebrations
...witnessed the births of Claire Camille Mucker and Francesca Yvette Holland
...taken Mat and Em to meet Elvis
...celebrated Thanksgiving
...been to the Jelly Belly factory more than once
...biked the Golden Gate Bridge
...campaigned for the end of prohibition
...almost been stranded in Seattle
...won a Rock Band competition by being the only entrants
...bought a Christmas tree and celebrated with it
...gone blond, then back to brunette
...freaked out at a shooting range
...celebrated New Year 80's style
...not seen any whales
...got to know my mother-in-law a lot better
...attended the President's inauguration
...had plenty of Partners' Lunches
...attended some weird events with Dana
...been to a Superbowl
...enjoyed a free breakfast
...been made homeless
...celebrated Chinese New Year
...not got into Cal Academy of Sciences
...climbed some mountains in Colorado
...lost a lottery
...taught Amir how to dress himself
...shared a bus with ex-cons and become Texan
...seen the best of the weather, and enjoyed a cosy night, in Yosemite
...planted a forest
...bet on the Kentucky Derby
...rocked out in Elad's band
...realised I'm married to an oil magnate
...survived being part of a family of eight
...road-tripped up to Seattle via a big blue lake
...ridden a personal scooter at high speed
...tussled with heat and the state governor
...learned how they build 747s
...witnessed destruction
...and played softball

Has it only been a year? Of course, the thing that's made it worth while is the people we've met here. Everyone has patiently put up with a couple of English subjects in denial that the USA no longer belongs to them.

I have to thank fellow-blogger Dana for being crazy/bored/desperate enough to join me on many of these jaunts, and infinite, unending, eternal thank yous to Hannah - without her brains and determination to get into business school we'd never be here in the first place, I wouldn't do any of this stuff, and you couldn't read about it in 340 blog posts (so far). Please forward all comments/complaints to her :)

That was then...
